Karen McDermott

Karen leads our planning team with over 15 years post-qualification experience in the private sector.

Karen has been a leading senior planner and project manager on numerous renewable energy projects, residential and mixed-use developments working on all phases of a project’s lifecycle, from feasibility and planning through to construction.

Throughout her career, Karen has managed and co-ordinated numerous planning applications and accompanying EIARs working with multidisciplinary teams to secure numerous successful decisions through the planning system.

From 2011 – 2018 Karen was Head of Onshore Planning in Gaelectric. During her time in Gaelectric, Karen led the successful grant of planning on 16 Onshore wind projects.

Karen holds a BSc in Spatial Planning and Diploma in Environmental Resources Management and is a member of the Irish Planning Institute.
