Meet the experts

Michael leads our management team. Michael has over 30 years leadership experience in corporate, banking, renewable energy development and financial advisory.

Prior to establishing Regnum Renewables Michael held a senior consultant role with Deloitte in the Debt and Capital Advisory team.

From 2013 to 2018 he led the Gaelectric corporate finance department where he was responsible for funding Gaelectric’s activities through the raising of mezzanine debt at group level and senior debt at project company level with a value of c.€500m.

Michael successfully managed the Gaelectric sale process for the 230MW operational wind portfolio to CGN in 2016 and the sale the solar energy portfolio with the benefit of planning to Power Capital in 2017.

Michael has executed multiple commercial and business banking transactions with a value of over €6.0bn including leveraged buy-outs, M&A, project financing as well as sourcing equity backing for new start up commercial ventures.

Kevin leads our development team and has over 30 years of experience in the successful delivery of major infrastructure projects.

Prior to establishing Regnum Renewables, Kevin led the EDF team in Ireland as Head of Development for four years. During his time with EDF Kevin secured a 1 GW pipeline of greenfield wind projects, acquired 50% stake in Codling Offshore Wind Farm and was on the Codling board for 2 years, acquired a portfolio of 8 solar projects totalling 100MW and successfully secured four RESS 1 contracts. He also energised three of the first RESS 1 project in Ireland in 2022.

From 2009 -2018, Kevin was the Chief Operations Officer in Gaelectric. During his time in Gaelectric, Kevin led a development team of 25 people, who developed and built 16 onshore wind farms - a 250MW portfolio, a solar and storage portfolio and managed a 3 GW pipeline of onshore wind in USA.

Kevin has extensive experience of working on all phases of a project’s lifecycle, from feasibility and planning through to construction and asset management. He holds a Bachelor of Civil Engineering degree from UCC and is a licensed professional engineer

Ciara leads our commercial and financial team and has over 10 years of experience in the energy industry.

Prior to establishing Regnum Renewables, Ciara worked in corporate finance roles in Energia, Gaelectric and KPMG.

Throughout her career, Ciara has been involved in assessing the commercial viability of a wide range of energy projects from wind, solar, storage, thermal, hydrogen, anaerobic digestion to biomass.

Ciara has executed multiple transactions with a value of c. €800m ranging from project finance, debt restructuring, mezzanine finance to M&A opportunities. Ciara has also been involved in the bid formulations and submissions of RESS and CRM auctions.

She qualified as a Chartered Accountant with KPMG and holds a Bachelor of Commerce degree from UCD.

Darina leads our GIS team.

Darina has been working in the GIS industry for over 10 years providing GIS services and consultancy within the Environmental Services and Logistics arena across the UK, Europe and Middle East.

She holds a Bachelor of Arts in from Trinity College Dublin, a Masters of Science from The University of Portsmouth and a Postgraduate Diploma from The University of Ulster.
